THE NECESSITY OF PRAYER IN THE LIFE OF A BELIEVER

Today more than ever God is advancing and enlarging His kingdom with strategies and revelations that will change the course of our existence for eternity. From the creation of man God wanted to have someone whom He can fellowship and speak to concerning the things He has in store for His creation, as well as the manifestations of things from the spiritual world to the earthly realm. The intentions of God are still the same today as it has ever been in the past. Today God is still looking for people to fellowship through the intimacy of prayer, as mediators to carry out His will in the earth. Prayer is not just a method of asking God for things when there is a need, but it is a lifestyle that all believers should develop in order to be fruitful and powerful in the kingdom of God.
Many Christians only pray on schedule times that the church meet to pray, but does not set time apart to be alone with God throughout the week. This choice defeats us in many areas of our lives, where God intended for us to have total victory. God is not just a miracle worker; He is a counselor, a defender, a provider, and a friend. He is also everything in every situation that we can ever encounter in our human existence and He wants to walk us through all our trials and temptations to enable us to overcome the world as Jesus Christ overcame the world. Through prayer God is able to give direction and encouragement; He also strengthens the weak to conquer the enemy when they believe there is no way.
The bible states that God does not sleep or slumber (Psalms 121:4) and He is never too tired to talk. Friends and family sometimes are exhausted to listen but God is waiting in that secret place not only to listen but also to speak Words of life to us every time we need Him. The bible in Psalm 91 states that if we abide in that secret place with God we will abide under His shadows, meaning, He will be with us every moment of everyday. When the way seems dark and lonely if we call He will answer. He knows the voice of His children and will always be in communication with them to enable the relationship to grow stronger.
I challenge you today to let your praying go beyond the church and become a lifestyle. You will not only become more connected with what God is doing in the earth, but you will see the blessings of the Lord more visible in your life and He will use you to carry out His will in the lives of people that He has predestinated to be blessed.
Increase your prayer life today and become a testimony of the power of God everywhere. God did not design you to be unfruitful but that you would display His image and His likeness through constant communion with Him. God is waiting right now to hear from you.

1 John 5:14-15
14: Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15: and if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
